Thanks - Im still waiting for the service manual in the mail

This one isnt anything like the other cars I have.

Where is the best place to get the different kid of fluids - Audi - On line? or are the substitues for the "Audi" fluids ok?

FLuid to use? - Amsoil has what they recommend - or do you go to Audi?

I use amsoil all the time in my cars, but I don't think it'll matter what kind of transmission fluid you put in if you don't get it in the correct hole...

The write up that was linked to before is very similar to our cars - easier on our cars even. It's the write up I used to learn how to do my car. Once you do it, it won't seem like a big job - just a MESSY job. It's worse on most other cars though, at least Audi gave a drain plug so you don't have to drop the entire pan while it's FULL of fluid.

Also, others on this board may not agree with me about the Amsoil fluid - they may say to use ONLY Audi. That's not bad advice, I just like to live on the edge a little

Next stupid question - how do you tel if you have a CVT or a "regular" 5 speed transmission?

Roll under the car and look for the green sticker on the bottom of the transmission, it has the code imprinted on it...

Recall reading about someone using Amsoil fluid and the tranny slipped a bit. Run OEM fluid. Meyle or Pentosin
