5V, that may be. Like I said, I'm not saying it's gold - but I've got it in 2 A6's and an A4 and they all got their first change at 100,000 with Amsoil. Why 100,000? Because I wasn't maintaining the cars before then. I bought my A6 and the A4 with right around 100,000 and my Mom took it to the shop until she hit about 100,000.

My mom hit 150,000 first (and I'm there about now) and when I changed her fluid it was the cleanest fluid I've ever seen, not even any fuzz on the magnets really, very very little metal wear.

None of us have experienced slippage. It's worked for me. But like I said - the better advice is to go Audi fluid, I live on the edge (plus the I can't afford the Audi stuff every 50,000).

Of course, my mom's car is the subject of the "no start" thread that I have...so what do I know??

Default ZF the tranny manufacturer manual re tranny & differential procedure

ZF recommends the tranny service (liquid + filter) every 60k-80k miles. Don't know why Audi said lifetime. Some said Audi means the lifetime is actually lifetime of the new car factory warranty. What a misunderstanding.

Below should be the one for the 3.0

You do also realize that for the final fill the car must be level, tranny at proper temp, and engine running in park. If you try to do final fill with engine off then it will be low about 1 - 2 liters. This would explain your original problem of having fluid left over.

Does this car have a transmission cooler? Apologies if it's already been mentioned in the thread and I just missed it.
