In one of your earlier posts, in which you posted pictures of the blue A6, you included the caption,
"If there's a problem, you can't brake and show that you're turning simultaneously -OR- use the hazard flashers and turn or brake at the same time."
This followed your observation that the turn signals aren't amber. A couple of comments...
1. In the factory set-up, the bottom portion of the red lens assembly serves as tail light and brake light; the top portion is turn signal and emergency flasher. This set-up makes it easy to display simultaneous braking and turning, though without the added benefit of bi-color lenses.
2. Steve Bollinger seems to have found a great solution for those who want amber signals and flashers; check out his photos (posted last weekend) if you haven't already done so. They look great.<p>mpuzach

That's better than nothing. Most American cars don't have the amber turn signals, especially Cadillacs. I find it annoying that they try to indicate so much with a single red light that can be partially on or completely on.
The amber adds a significant amount of safety. As for flashing the top, while leaving the bottom on, that's still not that great a fix. Example: You stall out, having run out of gas because your sensors are fouled up. You need to think through what to do for maximum visibility behind you.
I'll be sure to look for Steve's solution!
