Just received my January 2000 issue of Car & Driver, and the Audi A6 2.7/4.2 was named as one of their 10 Best cars in the world. Others on the list are: Audi TT, BMW 3 series, BMW 5 series, Chrysler 300M, Ford Focus, Honda Accord, Honda S2000, Lexus GS300/400, and the Porsche Boxster.

Comments on the A6 include: "With its balanced chassis, exquisitely detailed interior, distinctive sheetmetal, and excellent overall package, the A6 was compelling." "With this newfound power, the A6's have the all-around excellence that moves them to the head of the luxury-sedan class."

The A4 WAS on the list... the only cars that make it year after year is the Honda and BMW

Is there a price cap on this contest? I was wondering why you never see the 7 series, or A8 on that list since this very magazine always loves both of these cars. I am guessing there is a cost limit involved.

That is last year's list. I drive a C5 Corvette too, it is not on the 10 best list this year :^ (
