Hey people. New to this forum thing but your words of wisdom have gotten me through a few issues thus far. My beaut is an 01 A6 2.7t TIP Quattro. I made head way on sorting out radio issues: no sound... Have diagram of my own if anyone needs... Also have noticed a couple more issues for which I need guidance. First it just started throwing a code for exhaust temp sensor. As well as secondary air sensors... From what I gather they are connected? And 2 with that code I noticed that the secondary air injection pump is now short cycling on start up... Any thoughts or words of wisdom would be awesome! Thanks

The EGT sensors are not connected to the secondary air system in any way.
As far as I know, the EGT sensors are typically only available as a pair.
The secondary air pump is controlled by the ECU.
Retrieve the codes and search google for Ross Tech and the codes to get an idea of what you need to do.

EGT sensors can be replaced individually, while pair is recommended. They are expensive, The driver side is a pain to replace, passenger side easy. And you can drive both connections to the ECU with one side. So if your driver side goes out, spice the blue wire(striped) from the driver harness to the blue wire on the passenger side connector. Peel back the rubber protector to access the wires. I soldered mine. Leave the driver side disconnected.
If your passenger side goes out, the replacement takes 10 minutes. And I would splice the driver side in at the same time, because the driver side might be ready to go.
A lot of people have coded the EGT's out of the ECU, because the exhaust seldom if ever gets hot enough to require mixture enrichment.
