Default Audi All Weather Floor Mats

Purchased a set of all weather mats from Audi and attempted to install them today on my a6. Removed the factory carpeted mats which have the hole visible straight through the mat to secure it to the peg attached to the carpet. The all weather ones do not have the hole going all the way through. There is a cap covering the hole on the top of the mat that does not come off. I have been pushing with a reasonable amount of force and I fear I will tear this cap from the rubber but they refuse to snap securely.Anyone else have this problem? I can see the imprint of the peg pushing against this cap as I attempt to force it in place.

They do NOT snap securely - just place the holes over the peg - it is a loose fit

My son has a 2001 s4 and his Audi all weather floor mats have the hole going straght through and they are secure. Doesn't seem very logical that Audi would produce a rubber mat for the a6 that can't be fastened as well as the factory carpeted mats.

Default Had the same problem. Use a Dremel tool or drill to cut the holes in the mat anchors.

I was puzzled as well as to why this would be...

Thanks Bob. I am in the process of drilling them out. One mat done so far. Snapping in nicely now.
