I have a 1998 Audi A6 and it has the Concert radio and is supposed to be the premium audio package which i assume is the bose package because it also has the sub. But i have seen that its supposed to say BOSE when turned on if it is infact the bose system. Mine however doesn't say anything when turned on. So i'm wondering if maybe the radio isn't set to the BOSE mode. And also if it isn't would the dealer switch it?

which had Bose and they didn't "activate" the Bose setting and it was noticeably a crappier sound. A trip back to the dealer restored it.

If not, you don't have the Bose system. BTW, non-Bose systems have a powered subwoofer, though it's not as large as the one in the Bose system.

Just checked, and the speakers do say BOSE on them. It also says bose on the sub. Plus when we got the car, the original window sticker was with the the books and manual and it said premium audio system or whatever. So it is infact a bose system, but the screen doesn't say bose when i turn it on.

The head unit is the same whether installed in a Bose or non-Bose car, but internal settings are different. Bose speakers require different equalization than non-Bose ones. I'm no expert, but my understanding is that it's a VAG-COM adjustment, so your dealer ought to be able to easily do it (though likely for a charge).
