Audi European delivery announced!
#23
It's not your car till you take delivery. Audi will just get you another one if something...
happens on the way over. If you take delivery in Europe, and it's lost or damaged in transit, you'll be dealing with insurance companies.

Works well in practice
Other brands have been very successful. Demand has convinced Audi to do the same. Maybe not your cup of tea but there are enough of us out there that would enjoy it.

Cash only may mean that you can use an outside source for funding like many people
who buy expensive used cars, but haven't found the exact one, but need to have a cheque on hand to make the purchase quickly when they do find it. You are preapproved up to a certain amount at a set interest rate for a certain amount of time. They send you a blank cheque that has a stated limit. You fill out the final amount at the conclusion of the deal, hand it to the seller, and your payments to the funding source become due 30 days from that point.
To the seller, the cheque is the same as any other - except it's garranteed by a large scale lender.

We're all different aren't we. As you said, not my cup of tea...
other's will have their own opinions. Truth be told, I originally responded to a post about making it part of a European vacation. I suspect that a lot of the participants in these programs are die hard fans of the respective brands, and use European Delivery as a way to enhance their car buying experience. It's not an afterthought, but rather the main point of going overseas. Regardless, if it's what you want, go for it, and enjoy.
