I've been planning on trading my A4 for an S4, but have been quite tempted by the A6 2.7T. Thing is, I don't care for the stock 4-spoke steering wheel - any ideas on getting the sport wheel?

With the airbag I'm sure it would be a fortune new.

Call Specialized German Recycling @ 877-643-7626 . They have a wrecked S4 and I think they might still have the wheel available from it. For an A4 wheel they quoted me $300 without airbag. Might be more for the S4 wheel, <b>if</b> they have it.

Haven't looked into the cost of a new one but $1,500+ would be my guess.

While lot trolling at Diablo in Concord, CA I noticed a new A6 (don't remember if it was a 2.8 or 2.7T) that had the 3-spoke wheel. It looked as though the car was built with it. I pointed it out to several sales people, none of whom had noticed it. They had no idea how it was that the 3-spoke wheel had been installed in the car, and there was no info on the window sticker to explain it. Strange.

FYI.........in the UK cars can be ordered with the 3 Spoke sport 'wheel instead of the standard fopur spoke item. Cost is GBP280 (approx US$400), or GBP380 (US$540) with tiptronic controls.

Maybe this is the case on US models as well.

The one I saw didn't show anything on the window sticker, though. My guess is that it was a mistake at the factory.
