Have 2002 2.8 here in Seattle. Have the BOSE symphony system. LCD readout fades out at least once to twice a day. Music doesn't die out, or show up on the dash readout.

Complained about it to the dealer. They checked it out and found it faulty. Replaced it under warranty. The new one has been in only two weeks. It's doing the same thing. Crazy? Anyone have similiar problems? Am I getting the hand business from the dealer? They claim it's just a faulty deck and replaced it.

ohhhhhh!!!! well then. How do you know they put a new one in?

I agree. I don't. I guess I am just stupid. I should have asked to look at the old deck. But since I personally know the tech, I had no reason to disbelieve. But since it is still under warranty, I should take it back. But it still doesn't answer the query as to whether others have had any similiar experiences with this type of problem.

My car is 9 months old and I'm having the same problem. One hot day the whole unit would stop every 2-3 minutes, just for a second. This lasted about an hour. Never has done it since.

Then last week - the LCD quits, but the music keeps on playing. I turned off the ignition, restarted, and all the lights in the center console were out, but the LCD worked and the music played on.

Nothing weird since, but it is going in for regular service on Friday and they will hear about it from me too. Sounds like a bug.
