Default I buy at 3 years and sell at 7. Extended warranty is usually about 2K.

That's a bumper to bumper with no deductible and rental coverage.
When I bought the 4.2 I had them do a 30K service, new tires and Ronal wheels included in the price.
Overall I am saving a FORTUNE by buying used.
Leasing is yet another bad financial decision. But if you want a new car every three years, it's better than buying.

Default I'm not sure you're saving a fortune

you're only keeping the car 4 years, which is now an average lease. Have you really penciled out the numbers, adding in all your true costs?

Unless you're not financing, in which case I'd like to know if you're free for dinner tonight

Default Huh???

When leasing a new vehicle, you're still eating the depreciation. I'm a big fan of leasing, but I never for a second thought I was getting away with something. Maybe I didn't understand your post, being so excited about sunvalleyallroader's trip and all.

I bought a 55k car for 24.5K+2k for warranty. That is saving a fortune...

Default Audis sell at a below MSRP. BMWs usually don't.

However, when depreciation is calculated, MSRP is the denominator.

Hence, a new Suburban looks like it depreciated by thousands of dollars as soon as it rolled off the lot, even though this really happened as soon as the window sticker was printed.
