Audi's not holding their value?

My Boxster, an 02 with 15K miles, would sell for the high 20s on a Porsche lot with CPO. That means I'd be lucky to get 25K trade in on a car that 3 years ago stickered for 51K. Plus, Porsche North America is offering 2.9% financing right now on used Boxsters, something that PCNA has almost never done historically. Cayennes also have pretty steep depreciation curves.
Outside of AMG models, Mercedes is in the same boat.
While special to you an A4 1.8T with high mileage is nothing special as a used car and like anything else, is only worth what someone will pay for it.

Audis cost less to start with, don't have great residuals, don't have the bestest reputation in the market, I doubt if NC is a hot Audi market, ALL used cars are taking it in the shorts thanks to leasing and CPO.
I don't think that price for a 4 year old car is so bad these days. What's your basis for comparison? Have you recently owned a Merc or BMW?

It's both a benefit and a burden. You'd be a certifiable nut to buy or lease a new Audi. But oh f'Chrissake the used prices are so sweet: last year, we purchased a 2003 4.2 Sport -- a lessee had turned in his lease early or something -- with I believe every single solitary option that you can get, and 18K miles on the clock, in absolutely perfect shape, for $33K. It had been in service for 12 months and the sticker price was $58.5K!!!! It has run fine but at 24K needed new tires. That's it.
That's simply ridiculous.
