Default auto door locks

I have an odd question. After a rather embarassing lock out at the car wash I took my 98 avant to the stealer to disable the auto lock as everytime I shut the doors it re locked itself. Alas the stealer said they would not do it and it couldn't be done. I printed out the re-coding proceedure and they said the codes and values are invalid. Does anyone know how to disable them so I don't lock myself out again? And I refuse to pay the dealer 75.00 again to tell me they can't set the car up to do that and this is normal just carry the spare key. Grrrr

Default Sounds like your lock-doors button might be stuck on

The only way my doors lock is by one of the following events:

- I lock them with the key fob
- I press the lock-doors button on the drivers door
- I reach 10mph

I checked that also- door button has power when energized and not until approx 5mph. I have an old body avant and have been using my schematics on the older a6 even though it is techinacly a 98. I just wonder if they are the same.

Default The sensor on your Door lock has gone bad.. the car does not know the door is Open..

Happened to me.. The car is set so that is you unlock it and do not open the door in a minute the doors lock themselves... if your sensor is bad then the car does not know the door was ever opened so as soon as you sit inside after unlocking it locks itself back thinking you never opened the door... Easy way to figure out... start your car and open your driver door or any other door.. you should get a signal stating which door is open if you do not get it... then sensor is bad.. STFA on door sensor and you will find the fix I did..

https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/799111.phtml</a
