Default Re: What A6 doesn't have seat memory?

No. The seat memory from 2000 onwards is part of the Premium Package. Otherwise, it is just plain old power seats.

Default Its a neat marketing trick on Audi's part.

It really does cost them nothing. The premium package consists of the seat memory for driver and front passenger, Xenon lights, stereo/phone controls on the steering wheel, and the auto dimming review and side mirrors. I think that package retails for $1000. or so. But if you get the premium package, then you cannot get Celebration Package, which is a good deal for buying the leather, moonroof, and homelink options. If you want the Premium package options, then you have to buy the options from the Celebration Package, separately, which adds another $3K or so to the cost of the car. Absurd, of course it is, but this is how Audi's bean counters have worked the numbers.

Default Re: I have seen many A6 Avants without seat memory!

That's because it appears Audi ships over most of the Avants with the Celebration package, which consists of the leather, moonroof, and homelink.
They are already charging a hefty premium for the wagon compared to the sedan. I guess there marketing people figure there will not be too many takers for a wagon priced up with options.

That's exactly what I did. I thought the leather/sunroof/Homelink pkg was a bargain.

My '98 2.8Q has seat memory and Auto-down FWIW. Cool!

Default In 2000 it had nothing to do with FrontTrak vs. quattro.

Any 2.8 or 2.7T could be ordered with or without the "Convenience Package", which included power moonroof, multi-function steering wheel, driver's side seat memory, outside mirrors memory, auto-dimming mirrors, and Homelink.

The only exception to this was 2.8s ordered with the bargain-priced "Preferred Equipment Package", which consisted of leather, moonroof, and (I believe) Homelink at a very attractive price; such cars could not be ordered with the Convenience Package.
