Their stupid new America's Best poll. They're so impressed with themselves, they used "all available technology" to do it. I took the poll and it was underwhelming.
Anyway, the bad news first - BMW wins 4 categories. Now the good - in Best Sedan, won by the 3 Series, Autoweek's crack staff writes "fascinating fact: Audi is doing something right, and it's showing up in the consumer perception. Two Audi entries, the A4 and A6, split the vote; combined they would have given the 3 Series a real run for its money." Duh.
In Best Sports Sedan, won by the M5, they pratically soil themselves with "this Bimmer might just have to take a look in its mirror for a fast-approaching Audi RS6. This ultimate Audi, with a twin-turbo V8 engine derived from what the company learned from its three consecutive Le Mans victories, will make you yearn to be one of the select few blessed to own it."

but if you shop around there are ridiculously cheap subscription offers that make it cheaper to get than not.
I think they are going to start getting very distracted by their TV show which apparently is becoming a daily hour on Speed. Sorry guys, even in the car biz there's not enough to fill 5 hours a week.

I just scrolled through 24 hours of the Speed Channel programming & could find nothing called Autoweek, so their program must have a different name. What is it? (And thanks for the tip that such a program exists!)

...the guy I talked to said their show "Autoweek" now airs late Sunday afternoon & may change soon to prime time on Tuesdays only. No daily program is planned; the current show is 30 min, not an hour; and sometimes they run the same show for two weeks. He suggested www.speedtv.com for more info, which is where I'm going now.

My ongoing faves are Automobile and the Brit mag CAR, which shouldn't be surprising since much of the same gang writes for both.
I'm becoming disillusioned with C&D, it's a bunch of old guys trying to cash in on the Fast & Furious wave. I am so sad that trees are killed to publish MT every month!
Euro Car is evolving into a more interesting book than the slammed-VW mag it once was. Keith martin's Sports Car Marketplace is intriguing.
