Default Bad day... lost the key to the A6 and the dog ran away!

It all started when the dog ran away (he's a beagle, give him a chance and he will run forever). My wife calls and tells me that the dog got out, so I rush home from work (6 eyes are better than 4). Just as I get home a woman calls and asks if we are missing our dog. She lives about a mile away so I grab the keys the Allroad and my son and I run out to go pick him up. I buckle my son in then put the key in the ignition. Nothing. The key will not even turn. Darn! I have the wrong key. I grabbed the A6 key instead of the Allroad. I go get the right key and we retrieve the dog. But now the key is missing. We have turned the house upside down, but to no avail. Here's the problem... when I bought the A6 CPO from the dealership they only had one key! So, the car is now sitting in the garage until we find the key or...??? Argh!

Default You can order another with the VIN at the dealer

I had the same issue with the A4 I bought for my daughter for college. I brought the registration and my ID and they ordered a new one. Some dealerships have the machine and can make them there. Call around to find out if there's one in your area otherwise it takes a week or so.

Good luck.

Are you sure they were Mexicans? Were they speaking Mexican? Or brown skin + yardwork = Mexican?
