whether you do this yourself or the shop performs the work, make sure you have the full timing belt service performed as others have mentioned. Included in this service the following parts are replaced:
Water Pump, Thermostat, Toothed (Timing) Belt, Tensioner Roller, Toothed Belt Idler Pulley, Ribbed Belt, Ribbed belt Tensioner, Coolant Temperature Sender (Green) and new coolant.
This service does require the cam locking tool and crank locking tool. Do not attempt to replace without these tools (despite what the adventurous will tell you).
It's a little intimidating when the first step says "remove bumper" followed by "move lock carrier to service position". I was intimidated, but I was able to do this service. It was about 12 hours of my time and one broken timing belt cover. It cost me an extra day and $55 to replace the broken cover. I notice ECS Tuning now carries that part as I'm probably not the only one to experience that incovenience.
Do not perform this service if you don't have a Bentley manual or are comfortable with this work.
P.S. While you are at it, I would install a snub mount (~$50) as it is a few extra minutes since the lock carrier is in the service position.
Good luck with the car!
