Who has the best extended warranty if I want to cover the BIG ticket items like the transmission...& the transmission... & the transmission.... Newly purchased 2001 4.2 with 67,000 miles, so I guess it's beyond purchasing anything through an Audi dealer? (it is not a cpo).

While I don't have extended warranty myself I did quite a bit of research on the subject. It appears that www.warrantydirect.com is the most reliable company out there. It offers several plans that provide different coverage levels. I hope it helps.

BTW: for Candians thinking of going with this company... I emailed them last week. They are going to offer Canadians warranty service in the next 60 days. Currenty only in they US.

I'm looking into an extended warranty myself. If you are a AAA member, they also offer a warranty. Plus, with AAA's warranty, there are alot of local shops that will take it for repairs. Go to their web site and get a quote. Then on the left hand side, you can select Approved Repair. Now, put in your zip code and they will list all shops near you, that take their warranty.
