Black (ONYX) is a cool color, but will be very hot in summer :-)
I haven't seen the gray before. Does it look like with silver exterior? Looking at the photo, the gray (Advance) has more conventional horizontal stitching, while the black has vertical stitching. Also, the black leather feels rough. I hope gray leather is softer.
Thanks.
- Alfred

My 4.2 is silver and I have the tungsten gray interior. I like the combination, but it is a personal choice. Whatever you like the best is what works for you.

I have silver/grey on a car I got off the lot. The grey is a dark grey so while there may be a sun related temperature difference it won't be extreme. I think black and melange are the most elegant looking interiors on the A6. The grey isn't particularly soft either.

I just picked up my 2001 2.7 this week. It is
silver with the vanilla/royal blue combo. It is
very striking. IMHO silver is the best Audi color and is easy to keep clean. I had a grey/black 540
that I sold for this car and dark interiors just
don't do it for me.Look and sit in cars in the showroom and get what you like, you're paying for it.

Tungsten Gray: Horizontal stitch pattern, water buffalo hides, medium texture (roughness).
Onyx (AKA Satin Black): Vertical stitch pattern, steerhide (rough texture, more so than Tungsten Gray).
I have the Tungsten Gray and like it a lot. FYI, both interior colors use the same black dashboard, upper door panels, and carpet.
The other interior colors available with the Light Silver Metallic exterior are Maroon/Black (same characteristics as Onyx) and Vanilla/Royal Blue (horizontal stitch pattern, calfskin (soft & smooth), light-colored amber polished sycamore wood).
mpuzach
