Mine was May-99. No xenons, but rear window shade, homelink, memory seats, Bose. Yank out that 605 steering relay for a grea improvement in feel. You can still one hand parallel park. And an AW license plate frame for an extra 20 hp. Very reliable.

Spoiler is an original Oettinger, a little hard to find for a good price but they're out there

Im going to have two 2.8 a6's for sale.

One is a 1999 2.8 AWD with 99k. Silver with gray interior.
The other is a 2001 2.8 AWD with 150k. Silver with black interior.

Since I just bought my 99 A6 Q 2.8, I am glad to hear so many singing it's praises. So far, I am very pleased and look forward to enjoying it for some time. However, I bought the car knowing of a few issues that I am in the process of figuring out. Maybe someone can be of assistance. First, the cel was on when I bought the car. Risky move, I know, but my father owned a vw and porsche garage for 20+ years so I am confident when working on german cars. Anyway, after scanning the obd, it threw back the code po422- three way cat. There is a "jingling" noise when the car is driven, (it is remote at idle) which does appear to be coming from the cat, most likely a piece of honeycomb. And on top of that, the car just doesn't have the torque under load that it should. My only dillema is that before I spring for a new cat I want to go over some of the other possibilities to rule out a simpler, less expensive fix. Any thoughts on where else the problem may be?

Fix the cat and see how the power is. When there is no CEL and low power, the first thing you should check is cam timing. How soon is the next timing belt service due?
