Default To bi-xenon or not to bi-xenon, that is the question.

I had the fun :-( of driving in fog last night and was comparing the experience of the lights of my A6 to that of my ML500, which I drove the night before.
My experience is that the combination of low beam Xenon with hight beam Halogen lights is best. The bi-Xenon do not produce the same flood of light.
With the bi-Xenon you only get one light trying to the job of two - low beam and hight beam are both supplied by the same lamp. A mechanical shield moved to give half or full exposure of the light.
With the Xenon low beam and Halogen high beam you get both lights illuminating the road when on high. I drive a lot on rural streets and use my highs often.
What is your experience and preference and would you choose bi-Xenon if you couls have a Xenon/Halogen mix?

Default The mix would be nice, but on my A6 the high beams (halogen) are *independent* of the lows (xenon).

How about better *fog* lights, as high beams are very counter-productive in fog? Really, you should absolutely not use high-beams in fog.

So, does your low beam switch off when you put on the highs? I agree that it is conter productive to use high beam in fog. Low beam with Xenon is plenty. It tried adding the fogs but they made no difference.

Default Yes, the low's go off when on high-beam. The fogs are very, very weak indeed - no help at all!

If you do a search you'll find some people have replaced their factory fogs with different bulbs...though I can't say I recall if the r
