I just finished putting in a motor for my 2001 audi a6 quattro. I am getting white smoke that is starting to decrease but when i step on the gas it slips then it has no problem shifting after.

My other problem is that around 15 to 25 mph when i accelerate from out of a corner i get this rapid nocking in the rear then it stops until i accelerate a gen through a corner.

Can some one help me?

not enough info here but I will give some guesses.
white smoke is never good and can be burning antifreeze, does your exhaust smell sweet? how is your antifreeze level and pressure??? was this a new engine or a rebuild (you could just have antifreeze in your intake or someplace that is getting burned off from removing or transporting a used engine??)

trans slipping, well is it actually slipping or is it not engaging in gear (like going into neutral before shifts then slams in gear) or is it in gear but acctually slipping, car moves but rpms go up more then it moves? big difference. but you will need to check fluid. if it is slipping trany is likely going out, if it is not engaging the fluid/filter is low or dirty.

as for the rattle??
if it happens on a corner under acceleration it sounds like rear axle/CV, does it do it only cornering 1 direction or both directions. if only 1 direction then I would say yes CV, if both, possibly drive shaft?? have to crawl under the car and check for any play.

It is def sliping and i just found trans line leaking. so i am going to replace that then see what hapens.

The loud rubbing in the rear happens in both directions but only happens when excellerate after the turn. It is not a small clicking in rear more like a thump and rub.

engine is used but the smoke is going a way so far. i will have to see what happens when i opne her up. but for now she is still smoking a little after 3hrs of runing when i excellerate.
