Any of you hardcore Quattro fans have any thoughts on the new 325 xi? I'm pretty loyal to the Q but am always open to new ideas and with regard to innovations, one can never overlook BMW. I also own a 535 5-speed which remains a classic driving machine. Thoughts?

They choose hands down the A4 1.8T Quattro over the BMW 325xi.
The BMW's awd is biased toward the rear wheels, making it not work so hot in the snow (tends to kick the back end out)
The BMW 325xi and 330xi are NOT available with a sport package.
The BMW awd mechanics are inferior to Audi's Quattro
The BMW is MUCH more expensive.
BMW is not winning all the LeMans races. :-D

and realized that after living with my 2.7T now for about 6 months, the Bimmer interiors really disappoint in comparison. I'd rank them below MB, Lexus, and possibly even Volvo in this area, with Audi on top. I know it's only one aspect, but if you spend a lot of time in your car, it can be a significant factor. BTW, Volvo has some of the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in. Not suited particularly toward spirited driving, but very comfy indeed. I was really surprised.
But, WRT AWD, I don't think it's even a contest. Audi has much more experience here. Quattro simply kicks a** in inclimate or wet weather, though the right tire will play a very major factor obviously. Each have their points, but the Audi's I still think are best all around. It's a nice place to live when on the road ;-)

i agree with you on the interior... BMW has never really done a good job with this..
as far as seats, Volvo's and Saab's definately have the most comfortable (support-wise) i've sat in.. i do like my sport seats, but they're still not that good for the long drive...

I tried one while I was deciding whether to get a new 2.7t or something else. It's not as fast as the 2.7t and it's much smaller and cheaper on the inside. If you were comparing it to an A4 I think it might come out better, though not as well as an S4.
