Default Black with black interior

Have decided on black exterior for 2002. Would like opinions on interior color from those with black exterior/black interior, or black exterior with other color. Thanks.

I have Ebony Pearl with Tungsten, doesn't show dust as much as black would.

Black exterior is extremely difficult to keep shiney.. Swirl marks appear everywhere on the finish.. Black interior shows up dirt easily too, and makes it hotter in the summertime..

If you're the person who takes pride in detailing your car often, Black is the color for you.. There is nothing more impressive than a sparkling black finish.. No other color impresses like that..

Default Black interior is sweet, doesn't show dirt easily and at 101 degrees, not too bad...

although my car is silver/black, not black/black.
Good luck.

Default I have B-Black/Onyx...

Keeping this sucker clean is almost a full time job but if you have the time, it is the best looking car IMHO. I live in Texas so the heat is a factor but not as bad as I expected. I've had several black cars here but all of them have had light interiors up until now. I expected the Onyx interior to be really bad but that has not been the case. It is very tolerable and the difference between a light and dark interior on a 110 degree day is not that big.

The interior shows dust easily but I keep it under control using something like Pledge wipes. It takes just about 2 minutes to wipe down the interior and remove all the dust. No fluids involved. When cleaning it is actually not as hard as a light colored interior because the contrast between dirt and the dark interior is not that great. On a light interior I could never get it completely clean and there was almost always a hint of dirt on the light surface. On the dark surface, almost clean looks clean.

Default Go for blk/blk.

There is nothing so beautiful as a clean black car, which only exists on the day it gets washed. But it's worth waiting for that wash just to see it shine. The 4.2s get a cool menacing look in blk.

The flipside is a black interior, which looks great even when it's filthy. Get both and you'll be lookin' fine. Forget the black-temp thing...these AC units can make ice even in summer heat.

I was seriously thinking B/B for my next A6 (lease up end of July) until just recently. My present car (Volcano, or Ebony as they call it now), is usually clean, but when it's dirty, it hides it well. I don't think that will be the case with Brilliant Black, so now I'm thinking Silver/Black. I know silver's a little played, but I want/need the black interior. As for heat, I have Maroon interior now, and I don't find that it gets unbearably hot.

Default Agree: Black exterior shows swirls

The paint on my '98 A6Q is getting old and the swirls are very noticeable. Since I'm not the wash/wax/detailing type, I will have a pro take care of it for me.

I have the melange (tan) leather because the other black A6 on the lot had black leather and the boss/wife thought it was "too much". Hmmph!

In hindsight, I wouldn't hesitate to go black/black. Unless your woman is opinionated too...
