Here's my A6 with a blacked out grille. Funny thing is the grille doesn't fit my car (it's just set in place in the photo), so I'll be painting the stock grille tonight since after mounting this one I decided I really like the way it looks... this photo doesn't really do it justice.![Wink](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
The grille I have (pictured on car) fits the newer A6 ('98-'01) so if anybody here wants it, drop me a line. $50; what I paid. It is used, but in good condition... passes my inspection. It is so close in size to the grille on my car, but it's just a tiny bit off around the edges, and the mounting method isn't the same. The finish is metallic black, not straight black or flat black... it looks really good. See a couple close-up photos:

It's quite simple to do this modification... the paint will dry overnight. Just remove the stock grille (on my car there were three 10mm bolts holding it on) and then snap the trim off, then paint... put the trim back on, and put the grille back on. I originally wanted to have a stock grille in addition to the blacked out grille, but as you can see it didn't work out that way.
