Default Blow Off Valves

hey guys i have been searching and searching and i keep hearing mixed reviews. some say it will make it run too rich and others say if you adjust it correctly the car will run fine.
short of having 500$ for the ECS tuning blow off valve kit i was thinking about getting these off ebay and seeing if they will work with some fittings and adjusting.

is there any point in trying these? or will this just make my car run like crap and i should just live with OEM diverter valves.

STFA.
Try using the words "rice" or "ricer"
The issues with running a cool noises valve are well documented.

like i said i read the "well documented" information you are talking about.

i know it is a JDM ricer thing so i dont think i would ever do it but i was just curious.

i just didnt think ECS tuning would make a BOV kit if it would mess the car up.

In my experience, ECS follows the market. They will make products that sell, whether or not they add to performance.

So, the issues are well documented with using blow off valves, but you're still interested.

Next, you're interested in going for the cheapest solution from eBay...

What could possibly go wrong?

Skip this mod, instead spend the money on a set of good diverter valves.

Mess up, likely not.

But that does not make it useful or even necessarily as good as OEM.

My experience with ECS has been poor. Good selection, but low accountability for suggestions and issues.

oh, I bet not soon..............

(and I just looked at the price of that ESC BOV setup. $554 just to make a sound effect? Man-o-man that some serious scratch for noise.)

I looked at the link and the BOV setup in the picture ISN'T at the link...the link notes the recirculating hardware is extra. So, arguably the ESC BOV could be a BOV. That doesn't mean the picture put up by the OP is how the OP wants to use it.

That doesn't appear to be a BOV. It appears to be a bypass setup that is functionally identical to stock. It just opens the compressor side to the intake side of the turbo at vacuum...I doubt there would be much different sound or better performance than OEM.
