Need to change the two front Oxygen Sensors on my '01 A6 2.7T. Not sure on where to buy them. Maybe any better options? Other/online places?
Also thinking on installing them myself with a friend. How much time does it usually take for a person that knows what he's doing(so that i could imagine..). If i decide to change them myself, would i need some special tools there? Is Bentley neccessary, or its a little harder than replacing the battery?
Any input appreciated.
TIA

Which is what all that heat shrink from Radio Shack is for.<ul><li><a href="http://www.boschusa.com/AutoParts/PartFinder/partfinder.asp">Check for the Bosch part number here.</a></li></ul>

Picked up sensors from Vast Performance (www.vastperformance.co). They basically splice VW sensors and A6 harnesses together, but they do a nice job and the price is right @ $103 for the pair, shipped.
Can't speak for the reliability yet, but I didn't see any negative reviews on the forum.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/569781.phtml">Click for a description of the replacement process</a></li></ul>

Since your question about sensors relates to one I posted last 2005-05-03, I thought I'd pass on the response I received. In place of the Audi O2 sensor, get a couple of VW sensors, part # 06a 906 262q for about US $25 each and then Audi plugs, part # 3a0 973 334 for about US 80 cents each. Break the plugs from the VW sensors down to metal connectors and blue seals and connect the ends to the Audi plugs and install. The wires on both VW and Audi sensors are numbered on the plugs -- mark each wire and connect to the appropriate number. Good luck. This works out considerably cheaper than either of the options you set out.
