I have a 99 Audi a6 quattro, and my brake light indicator light came on a month or so ago along with the warning beeping when I come to a stop. Checked the fluids and they are good and topped off. I was told that when I drive all of my brake lights are constantly on...and only glow slightly brighter when the brake is pressed. Not sure of the problem but would like to get it fixed obviously. I also tried switching out the brake switch with no resolution to the problem. Any suggestions? Any help would be much appreciated! And the ABS light DOES NOT come on. Please...Helpppp

is it the barke worn indicator ? if so check your front pads ..
PS you should nevr " top off" brake fluid .. if it is down it means your pads are worn and need to be replaced . Then you Flush your brake fluid.

However, the fact that you describe your brake lights as "constantly on...and only glow slightly brighter when the brake is pressed." tells me that, if what you've described is actually the case, the bulbs may not be burnt out but that you may have some other problem such as a bad sensor. But, since they are so cheap and easy to do, you might want to just try changing out the brake light bulbs first.
Oh, and might as well top off your brake light fluid while you're at it.

I think you may have just answered your own question. That flashing light indicates that your brake light(s) are out.

Reminds me of the time when my first Audi (1986) indicator came on. I removed the coolant sensor and other stuff before I realized the indicator which looked like a bottle boiling over was the windshield wiper fluid low indication.
