If the pads need to be replaced on my '01 2.7 will the warning light stay on. My light came on the other day for first time, but it has not returned last two days.
Thanks!

It will stay on when the pads need to to be changed. You may want to just check the pad connectors first.

The pad sensors are nothing more than a wire loop embedded into the pad. When the pad wears down to a certain level it will break the wire and your warning will come on.
However, if the wire becomes broken somewhere up the line because of God knows why (for me it had to do with a simple wheel swap that somehow damaged the wire), then you'll see a false warning. According to my local shop, they see this all the time.

When people post that their brake light is on, they could mean the red "brake" light and they could mean the "(0)" light. Half the people don't even know what "(O)" means.
Sorry to bother you with the foolish question. Good luck with your problem.
