Default Brake Pad's

Ill make it short and sweet.

I own an 01 A6 2.7T and am looking for a new set of brake pads. Rotors were replaced all the way around the last time the Audi Dealer did the brakes so I think I will just do pads this time.

I am dissapointed that EBC doesn't make their "Green Pads" for this car. I drive only on the road and am looking for a pad that can handle spirited driving with low dust. Can you experts please reccomend some pads and a place to get them? When looking on my normal sites (tire rack, blauparts) I don't see anything that seems to stand out. What do you all recommend?

Travis.

Say what? That doesn't make any sense at all. My post described no problems just that the pads are worn out and need replacing. I am looking for good suggestions.

Definitely, definitely Akebono. First off, do you have the HP2 brakes? That would mean bigger rotors and has FOUR pads per rotor. I bought mine off of Amazon.

And its a lot better to replace the pads and rotors together, but w/e - to each his own.

I have not yet determined exaclty which brakes I have. I can tell that I have the brakes with 8 pads or four per wheel. From what I understand so far I need to determine if they are 312 or 321 mm correct?

I really like the Akebono ceramics I have. they are very low dust but I don't use them under high loads so I cant tell you how well they work when you really heat them up.

My 2 cents

Yes, you have the 321mm HP2 brake system. If you're going w/ Akebono, you'll want the EUR839 8-pad set for the front and the EUR340A 4-pad set for the rear.

I figure I might as well do it right. Let me know which rotors you suggest and I will order everything up.

If it makes you feel any better, the MSRP is supposedly $218.10 for front and $92.96 for the rear. But we all know that MSRP is crap.
