would you suggest getting a further opinion from another audi dealer or someone who is independant and do you think it is just a way of them making money. I will ask for the pads when they are removed.

but as a repair shop I would question why it is happening so much. I would collect all the pads and compare wear. Is it just one? Probably dragging caliper. All? Either pad material failure or your driving style. I would ride with you and ask that you drive normally.
If you have a well regarded independent shop that knows Audis, take the car there for another opinion. And yes, do request the old parts back.
