Here are the pictures I promised.

The lip isn't as bad as i first suspected. I think I will just replace the pads and worry about the rotors at a different date.

For future reference here is bolt #10. It is a bit difficult to see as its covered in many years of break dust and dirt.

Here is a picture of two bolts on the inside of the caliper. Is the lower one #5? It appears to have some weird 12 point bolt (triple square)?
Another I am not sure if this is just a standard hex head or why it has the big dimple in its center.

Very model/option dependant - search the archives or here's a page with lots of Audi links:

There are two 17 (21?) mm bolts on the back side of the caliper / hub. They are insanely tight (140 lb-ft spec). They are nearly inaccessible. You must either a) raise the car ona lift, or b)- maybe, if lucky, turn the wheel to full lock while on stands and you may gain access.
First for the upper one you must remove the brake line held in place with a 13mm bolt
Great fun if they've not been off recently.
You'll also want to flush the fluid no doubt. Right? RIGHT?
So get a deep reach 6-pt (9mm???) socket so you can loosen that corroded thing without rounding it; then use a line wriench.

Well I just wanted to let everyone know that I got the job finished about two weeks ago and everything works as it should. I plan on replacing the brake fluid in the next few weeks as I wont be as busy. The fluid I removed when changing the pads didn't look to bad but it should probably be done regardless. Does anyone have any advice on removing the filter in the top of the master cylinder reservoir? I could suck fluid out to a point making use of a syringe from the lab i work at. However, I couldn't draw too much out. Anyways, thank you for the help I have received. Hopefully, I can return some advice later, and I'm sure there will be more posts by me asking for help with future projects. I love the new pads. They are silent and and there is no brake dust. I did notice that I have to put a little more force on the pedal than with the old semi metallic pads to achieve the same stopping effect but once I got used to it there was no issue. Thanks again.
