My dad's car had the brake wear indicator come on. The front brakes look fine and we just did the rears. Do I have to do something special to reset it or is there something wrong with the connectors on the front brakes? I have a VAGCOM if that is needed.
Thanks!

The wire to the sensor is embedded in the pad material and is actually ground off. When the wire is severed, it activates the warning light.
I don't know what % of pads remain when the sensor goes off, but my old mechanic said there was still a month's worth of pad material left. It all of course depends on your driving style.
I don't own a VAG tool and am not sure if there is an override but at any rate, you should plan on doing the front pads sooner than later.
