Brief high pitched whine on cold start-up

Brief high pitched whine on cold start-up
I hear a loud, very high pitched "turbine" whine with a cold start-up that stops after a minute or so with an audible wind-down, so I assume its in the cold start air pump. Anything here to worry about? I'm at just under 70K miles; is it covered by the Emissions Systems Warranty?

As you have surmised, sounds like the secondary air injection pump. I don't believe it
is covered under Federal Emissions warranty 0 had to pay for my replacement a couple of years ago.

2.7T here and mine does the same thing...
The noise was only audible about a couple of months ago... since then.. then CEL is on. Still working on resolving mine. The pump only runs for about 10 seconds or so on mine (Outside temp... about 50 degrees).
