broken hood latch but can't get the hood open- HELP!
i cannot get my hood latch to release- and i need help trying to open the damn thing- i have tried pulling very hard on the cable, nothing. Tried pushing down on the hood while pulling the cable- nothing. tried springing the latch from the front (bumper off, grill off) and NOTHING. How do you release this f***ing thing?

First off, take a deep breath and calm down a bit. :P
It's not too horrible, you basically need to get to the latch(es) and push them to the driver's side of the car to get it to pop.
I've done it on my older Audis a few times, but not on the A6...yet. :P If someone else doesn't offer helpful input I can look into it this week.

Re fixed it
don't know why but the cable somehow came dislodged- ie it snapped out of place
i was able to reattache after finally making a hood release tool and now everything works fine
go figure
