Default Broken Shifter Button

So this morning I go to shift my 98 A6 automatic into reverse to get out of my driveway and the shifter button breaks off. It seems to have broken off it's top piece and is hanging off by a piece of plastic on the bottom. It is really difficult to shift the car with no button. Is this an easy fix? How long would it take a dealership to fix this?

Default they'll most likely just swap out the whole handle

it *should* be less than an hour of work, as removing the handle only takes a few minutes tops.

Default I wonder how hard it will be to remove the **** without the button...

...since the removal requires the button to be pulled outward to release the ****'s catch.

The shift **** button P/N is:4B1-713-141-J-QBF on my 2004. It was just replaced last week. The shifter was dragging half the time coming out of PARK. It was like that at delivery. I've asked about it at least 3 or 4 times and finally a tech just didn't try to tell me to push the button all the way in or try to lube it. Since it was a warranty item the labor time doesn't show. My car is a CVT but the parts are the same, I believe. The **** was not replaced.
