Broken sun visor - help please

Tried this today. My visor shaft piece wasnt broken though. I think this would work for it though if the center is. Almost like putting a cast on it!

The Bic pen fix is a winner!
I used a bushing for a Steinway piano's sostenuto rod, which I happened to have at work. Just sliced it lengthwise and snapped it into place over the visor's pivot. It's a loose fit on the visor but fits the retaining clip nicely. Didn't bother to glue the slice back together and it's been working for three years now. It doesn't rattle. The proper Steinway method would be to use very fine wool cloth of the exact thickness to take up the space between the visor's rod and the bushing.
There is so little material visible beyond the retaining clip that any translucent nylon piece like the bic pen barrel will do just fine.
