I just bought my first Audi, a 2002 Atlas grey S6 with 6900 miles on it. I'm trying to find out how many of these vehicles made it to the US. Does anyone know where to locate this information? Also, do you think $48,400 was a fair price for this vehicle?
Thanks.
Thanks.

don't worry about the price you were willing to pay and just enjoy your ride! You'll get all kinds of unexpectedly blunt advice here (in addition to the help), so it's sometimes better not to ask a question like this after the fact. Best to ask about price before you buy! Did you check service history? In any case, welcome. My wife's ar was the first Audi for us, but I had to have an S6 to replace my '00 V70R. Like powerful, awd, exclusive and low key euro wagons. Most people don't have a clue what these cars are, except the alroad gets some attention since it looks so butch.
Where are you, BTW?

It's not the best price I have seen, but what you paid is also not terrible-so long as the car is Audi Assured.
Just for your reference, here in NJ there were a few brand-new, leftover '02s that were sold for $49-50K, all taxes (incl fuel tax) included.

few other cars you could have bought for the same money that will offer as much satisfaction. I got mine new and don't like to discuss prices, as with ANY new car purchase 2 years later. Just drive and enjoy, I'm keeping mine.

I got my 2002 S6 Avant w/ 25K miles on the odometer for $41K. I would have gladly paid $5K more for a car with only 6900 miles on it -- $8K more, not so sure, but I think I would have still gone for it. The value of the remaining warranty/maintainance period is definitely worth factoring into the equation, in my opinion.

Thanks for the info. Yes, it is an Audi-assured vehicle, so remaining warranty is 3 years balance of initial, + 2 years additional. Dealer would only sell as an Audi-assured, and was pretty firm on the price. Since I highly desired the S6 Avant, and aware of only two available in this area (Mpls, MN), I grabbed this one instead of waiting for a "better deal". Since I have what I really want, the price paid is worth it to me.
