Just flipped on Fox News and there was a story about a woman whose car bust into flames less than 24 hours after she bought it. The anchors were chatting about it as if it were a brand new car, and then they cut to a wide shot and it's a 2003 A6 (judging by the facelift front and the five spoke wheels).

Ouch.

This car was used and she paid 4K for it, I'd bet it had electrical problems based on the story.

Makes me feel better about having to drive out of town to get a headlight switch wiring harness recall adressed. Evidently it can start a fire.

Sounds like an overheated cat...there's a REASON to shut it down when the CEL is flashing...LOL.

I doubt she'll get her money back even with a lawyer...she's admitted to abusing the vehicle, i.e., driving it with the CEL flashing. Supposed to flatbed it in....she was probably doing 75mph on I95 down in FL...I KNOW that road and you'll get passed by 90% of the traffic if you hold to 65mph in the 55mph speed limit.
