Default Can anyone tell me the correct rear rotors and pads for my car given my chassis number?

1998 Audi 2.8q A6 sedan.

Chassis# B3WN116332

I am having a hell of a time getting the right pads and rotors. My rear rotors are 245mm, correct?

What are the correct mintex pads? I was send MDB 1191, but they don't fit (I can't get the caliper over them, when I force it, the pads are pushed away from the disc).

Default Audi and VW rear pads are the same for like 10 years now. Are you sure you have the piston ALL the

way in (retracted)? If they are pushed out even a few mm when installing new pads there isn't enough room. Check the pics on various parts suppliers websites - these are very common rear pads.

Default I pushed it in as far as it would go with the screw tool...

But I didn't really try to turn it really hard. I just left it at what felt like the end.

The pad specified for the car is 0.6mm thinner than the one I got. I'm guessing that 0.6mm is making the difference between fitting and not fitting.

Pads may be the same, but rotor offsets are not, and some cut off in the middle of a model year.

Default MDB1377

Compare the spring clips versus your stock pads.
1191 the spring is a "T" shape, while the 1377 is a "Y" shape.

1377 fits 99% of the Audi/VW's, while 1191 fits about 40%. The shape of the backing plates are are otherwise almost identical.

Default I had quite a challenge taking out my rotors. I gave up...

Got frustrated and just slapped on the pads on the old rotors. Still works fine but while I wait for these to wear out, I want to arm myself with enough info on how to take out the rotor for next time.

Default These cars have an extremely easy rear setup. The only issue that I've noticed is when the

rotor becomes frozen to the hub. That is easy to remedy though. Just take a small hammer and tap around the rotor. After a while, the rotor will loosen up.

Nor were the rotors and calipers. 200Q-20V had large thick vented rotors.
