I searched the forum and it seems like the only A6 Avant ever sold in the US was the Allroad. The model guide for 2000 and 2001 also appears to indicate that only the 2.8 was available for the Avant. Is that right?

The reason I ask is because I am seeing an A6 Avant advertised in my local classifieds and it says it's a 2.7L engine. Perhaps it was a typo or the seller doesn't really know. Can somebody shed some light on this for me.

either the seller is clueless, or its a typo and its either a 2.8 avant or a 2.7T allroad

nope but you can get an Allroad, whats the diffence?

Theoretically--weight, fuel economy, handling; Practically--not much besides appearance

Well, it could be...there are gray market cars here in the states, however unlikely -

not exactly - air suspension is a huge difference: car can be raised/lowered from cockpit.
