Default Can I Retrofit Audi Satellite Radio into a 2002 S6?

I would like to add satellite radio to my 2002 S6 and would prefer to do it without adding aftermarket parts. I have the Audi Bose system. Does Audi have a solution where we take out my radio and put in a different Audi unit that has satellite radio? I realize that it might include a component that gets tucked away in back. What I'm really looking for is the ability to keep a stock appearance in the cockpit.

Has anyone successfully done this and/or any good feedback on adding satellite with aftermarket parts?

Your help is appreciated.

Default You are new, so let me politely introduce you to

the Search function and the legacy of Stoney's Links. Stoney catalogs all important info, including audio details.

Search Retrofit or Install Satellite (or XM or Sirius, as you like). I have read about this before. The head unit might need activation, IIRC.

Search for "stoney's links" if this does not work.

Default Do a search, or click my sig.

Yours will be easy because the new SAT ready Symphony headunit will be plug and play.

Default UNREAL - NSX JR, that is!

I was about to post a new thread paying homage to the site revealed by your link embedded in your sig, when I see that you also posted here. That is seriously the most incredible posting, and you demonstrate a real mastery of the Audi modification craft. Fabulous.

Default The head unit is plug and play but you still need the cable to the sat receiver right?

2002s have the CD changer DIN and not the SAT wiring. I think you can mod the CD to work with SAT.

Default True, he will have to run cables to the trunk for the SAT tuner

Not sure if his 2002 model has the CDC plug in the trunk or not.
