Can you change alloy wheels to chrome? Do they get "dipped"? Anyone done it?

I have 18 rs4 rims from Hartman wheels. I want chome ones now to match the other chrome accents on the car. Any advice?

or if money is tight, sell what you have and get the new polished Hartmann's in 18" when they become available.
A polished metal has a more highclass luster and if ttakken care of, will last longer.
Chrome has more bling factor, but you'll grow to appreciate the polished.

Besides the chroming (plating process) pits the metal underneath and actually weakens it over time. It also peels and looks nasty after a few years.
Better to get polished wheels, then have them clear-coated. Take care of the clear coat like any painted surface on the car (wash with mild soap and wax periodically), and it will last a long time.
