Default Can you hook up an XM Radio Unit through the CD?

I did a search, but couldn't come up with Specifics. I'm looking to get an XM radio unit for my 2000 A6 2.8. What is the best way to install this? I don't have a CD changer installed now, and I don't want to replace the existing stereo. For those that have done it, please provide me with options and info. Thanks in advance.

Default Blitsafe Adaptor.....very easy, just plug right into the back of the radio

Just pull your radio...then unplug the 20 pin connector....plug in the Blitzsafe adaptor....then plug your 20 pin into the red connector on the Blitzsafe....and you're good to go. Then just plug the XM into the RCA inputs.

Or better yet, buy it and bring it to an installer and have them do it!

Oh, your car won't look like this, mine has had a few surgeries to say the least....

Default Blitsafe Adaptor to amp?

Could i use the Blitsafe Adaptor to connect my amp for my subs? It has a rca jacks. Or are those just for xm radio "inputs"? Because if it could be used for a cd-changer then possibly an amp?

Default Thanks for the Info, couple more questions

So, if I buy the Blitsafe adaptor, do I need to buy anything else with the XM tuner besides an antenna and possibly a mount, or does the cradle that they make you buy have the RCA Outputs? Does this take the place of FM Modulation? How will the signal be played, when pressing the CD button, FM Modulation, etc?

Don't know anything about the XM, I would just bring it to best buy or something have them do the install....probably about $100.

When you press the CD button it will say "CD 1 Track 99" and never change. It will toggle to whatever is plugged into the Blitzsafe.

Default Would you know of an adaptor to create an output for attaching an amp?

I'd love to avoid ripping out the head unit. But if I must I will.
