Default Cat problem - actually code P0421

I posted two days about about code 1552, it is actually code P0421. Thanks for the the link on the codes, I've lurked long enough I should have know 1552 was the VAG tool. I didn't see this code but 0420 and 0422 deal with bank one cat issues, car has 113k miles so I'm out of emmisson warranty. Does $675 plus labor sound fair for replacing the bank 1 cat? Thanks everyone.

Default I'm sure you can buy that cat for a lot less.

That sounds like a dealer full price for the cat.

Default Factory list on OE Audi part is $1338.60. Your being priced an aftermarket which

has a wholesale cost of $325 to $375. Your code is for bank 1 warm up cat. The code should be cleared and have a readiness code generated. Part of the readiness coding will test the cat. If the readiness code is able to be generated and the code returns, replace the warm up cat which sadly is part of the whole assy.

Thanks...100% markup on parts seems steep.

Default Was your dealer holding a Crack pipe at the time?

The labor is a B, but you should be under $2K parts and labor.

Default My dealer was $1,200 plus labor...

...another indy shop's rough phone quote was $1,500. This board often validates my feeling my indy shop is fair.
