Has anyone installed anti-theft protection on the catalytic converters on their 2.8L V6? What did you get and how hard was it to install?
I am hearing about more and more thefts of catalytic converters in my area, and as soon as one theft ring is busted another pops up. Although I park my A6 in an underground garage at night, it's easy to tailgate into the garage and my neighbors are not super careful about who gets access. I may also go places where my car is on the street at night and don't want to get my cats stolen.
I'm hoping the low ground clearance under an A6 is a deterrent but I wouldn't count on it. I'm definitely holding onto the cats from my 2.8L 2000 Passat even if they're not legal for smog--with the pre-cat on those, the emissions are cleaner anyhow.

The cats on your A6 are not easily accessible and not massive enough to be of interest to a professional thief. They are more likely to target an Escalade or Suburban.
Of course, that doesn't mean that an a stupid thief would not attempt the steal.
I certainly would not lose any sleep over it.
