Default cd changer

My CD changer won't turn on. I have 98 audi a6. The CD changer has power and spits out the jewel case but when I hit the mode button on my radio it won't switch to the changer. Is there something I should know about before trying to buy a new changer? HELP!!

Do you have the cds rightside-up in the cartridge?

Yeah it was working fine but all of a sudden it just stopped. the changer is getting power so it's not the fuse.

Default take out of the jewel case... jk, if it worked before, try pulling the fuse and resetting the radio

code (assuming it has a code to set like newer Audi's)?
