CD Changer
I just tried a CD-RW in my 6 CD changer in my 6 CD changer on an '99 AD. The screen reads "ERR" and will not play the CD. I burned teh CD at home. Are you aware of any settings that will allow a CD to play. It plays in my wifes car and all my CD players in the house. Thanks!

I have a 99 A6 as well... Most of my CD-R played get fine, although a few that I loaded to near capacity (near 80 minutes) had the same issue you had. Never tried CD-RW CDs...
I use the past tense because I upgraded to a PhatNoise system two weeks ago. Love it. I now have 170 CDs in my car, with room for more...
