Default So what do you currently have it set to?

>I live with Celcius for the outside temp and climate
>control but US units for fuel and distance.

Hmmm, so what have we got to consider:

-the total distance driven since new (in M or KM)
-the various trip computer features (e.g. miles remaining and mpg, or km and L/100km)
-the date (dd.mm.yyyy or mm.dd.yyyy)
-the time (24hr or 12hr with am/pm?)
-time synchronization (none or radio signal aka the palm tree)
-temperature units (Celsius or Fahrenheit)
-language of the center display text

It would be nice if all of them were individually configurable, but I gather that you have to live with one of the pre-defined "sets".

Here are the values for Germany:

Total distance since new=KM
Trip Computer=KM
Date=dd.mm.yyyy
Time=24 hour clock
TimeSync=Yes, from the European time sync radio signal in Frankfurt
Temp Units=Celsius
Language=German

Here are the values for the UK (which uses Celsius for temps, but clings onto miles for distances):

Total distance=M
Trip Computer=M
Date=dd.mm.yyyy
Time=24 hour clock (not sure of this, maybe 12)
TimeSync=Yes, from the UK time sync radio signal
Temp Units=Celsius
Language=English

Here is what I'd guess the USA has:

Total distance=M
Trip Computer=M
Date=mm.dd.yyyy
Time=12 hour clock
TimeSync=No
Temp Units=Fahrenheit
Language=English

It seems to me like the only things you'd want different are the first two, M to KM. Is that what the Canada setting is meant to be? Or do you guys also use Celsius?

I'm beginning to think that there might be no correct setting for me. I want everything set for standard Germany except with the English language for the text display in the centre.

Default I have the instrument cluster set at US and have the climate control set to Celcius...

so... to fill out your chart:

Total distance=M
Trip Computer=M
Date=mm.dd.yyyy
Time=12 hour clock
TimeSync=No
Temp Units=Celcius
Language=English

My orginal instrument cluster was fine when I coded it to be Germany. The 24-hour clock did not have palm trees and other hieroglyphics. The rebuilt one only works properly when set to the US.

I have recently bought a 2007 A6 saloon with MMI interface despite trying hard I can not see any way of changing the display from miles to kilometeres , I have tried all sorts of things looked through the handbook but It all seems very involved complicated, it’s a bit annoying because I previously had a Mercedes and it was as easy as ABC to change the display unfortunately this Audi is a mine field and there doesn’t appear to be any definitive answers, I would appreciate it if anyone could explain to me how to do this I have to have the display in Kilometeres to be able to register the car here in France, As a last resort I am starting to think that I may have to drive some distance to the nearest dealership and pay them to do it for me. Really thought it would have been reasonably easy. Could just be me not getting it but please help if you can, thanks very much
