Default Check engine light...

Need to vent a little here..sorry. I bought my A6 on June 15. On Friday night, the check engine light came on for the third time. First two times they said it was because of a loose vacuum hose and a switch on the clutch that tells the engine your shifting wasn't working (the new one they put in was faulty, resulting in the second check engine light). Now I have to bring it in again on Monday. It has only been a month, three check engine lights!? What is going on with my car? Shouldnt the certifications fixed these?

Default The new one they put on was "faulty" is a load of crap.

Thats the standard reply to the customer when the first diagnosis didnt pan out. Got any Vag codes we can mull over?

same check engine light problem also.Went to dealer this week and they repaired a cracked vac hose.Told be if the light comes on again, which it did,I would need a new intake manifold because some kind of valve was not fuctioning.I would just like to disconnect the light. Is this possible?

Default There are probably 50 or so malfunctions that will trigger

the light. Some are very insignificant but others are very important. While it would be easy to just pull the bulb out of the socket, you will regret having done so. The light is very good at alerting you to some problems early. Early is good because left too long it will always end up costing you a heck of alot more if you ignore it. My advice, let the light do its job. ed
